Baby Steps...

As I get deeper into my journey of sobriety and self-reflection, I am noticing an ENORMOUS amount of things about myself and my life that I could stand to change, improve, or completely eliminate.
The list itself is quite overwhelming and would deter the average person from attempting to fix any of them.  However, I have been down this road before and my new outlook on approaching life have allowed me to take on the concept of "baby steps."
Small steps towards changing specific behaviors or tangible characteristics make for a much smoother transition into a greater quality of life.  I had to learn that I should focus on one thing at a time, or I would drive myself crazy.
Although things might seem like "too much", remember that you don't have to fix them all at once.  You won't be able to eliminate the anguish, debt, and other feelings that come along with finally giving up gambling.  At least not all in one day, one week, or one month.
However, that first day you will start to feel better, and as you continue to make better choices for your life, you will notice that everything around you is starting to work out in your favor.
The book says take it one day at a time for a reason.  Don't sweat the small stuff, and take everything in stride.
Stay focused, stay positive and make today magnificent!
