Confused

Today, someone told me I'm a sociopath. That upset me. In response, I've been doing a fair amount of soul-searching. I asked my friend Lindsay about it.
She said, "Well, sociopaths tend not to do a whole lot of soul-searching, do they?"
"I don't know. Do they?"
"No, they don't. And, if you were as narcissistic as she implies you are, why are you trying to be a better person?"
"Um...."
"Maybe she's just a bitch."
"That's a possibility."
