Well it has been awhile since I wrote, I have a new job (better one) my wife and I are better than we have ever been (yes there is hope!) and she got her transfer to another store effective next Monday! yippee. On the sadder side, my wife and I are dealing with her Step-father who is 91 he was admitted in the hospital last week with dementia, renal failure (kidneys shutting down) and pneumonia. He is so confused and frustrated he is pulling the IV lines out and trying to get out of bed all the time. Oh yes to add more drama he also is hard of hearing and keeps pulling his hearing aids out and we had to constantly find them. The thing is since he was admitted his mental and physical states have slid down hill even further. I am supporting my wife and her family through all of this by being the single point of contact for everyone here. So I am juggling my job and relationship with my wife and her step-father and her family. I just hope I don’t drop the ball :) I accept the situation for what it is there are some family members who in their mind have already buried him while others who are just afraid for the next step that he could take. I for one am just taking it one day at a time and trying to make the best of a terrible situation. Keeping the family informed as to the current situation and making sure my wife keeps eating and doesn’t shut down her self. So if you have family you haven’t talked to or seen lately call them if you can, get together with them and enjoy their company share family stories. There is an old story that says “when we come into this world we are crying and everyone is smiling, when we leave this world everyone is crying and we are smiling” live life to the fullest. One’s measure of wealth shouldn’t be the possessions’ but the wealth of friends one has.
