my mom
My mom is better. She has been on iv antibiotics, and that has helped tremendously. She will be released from the hospital tomorrow. It was only a very bad infection, complicated by diabetes. We just found out that she is diabetic, so she'll have to modify her diet and take insulin. But, that is much better news than a bone infection or blood clot.
Thank you for your prays and well wishes.
P.S. While my daughter and I were leaving the hospital yesterday, the body of a 17-year-old male drowning victim was brought in to the emergency room --- not very far from my mom's room. My daughter and I had the "privilege" of watching this young man's mother crumple to the floor, screaming, "No, no, this isn't supposed to be happening!" A nightmarish scene. It really rattled us ---- really reminded us of how blessed we have been. Please pray for the family of 17-year-old Thomas Stubblefield. I can't imagine the road that lies ahead for his mother.

I\'m so glad your mom is doing better, Nancy!! Adult onset Diabetes is a very difficult thing to get used to! One has to change their entire way of eating and it\'s difficult. I pray that she will able to control her Diabetes with a good change in eating habits!! Insulin is yet another \"new thing\" that she will have to adjust to! She\'ll need a lot of prayer and understanding, and I\'m sure she\'ll get that from you!
So sorry about the death of that young boy!! I\'m sure it rattled you. These kinds of things are never supposed to happen to \"us\".....it\'s hard to watch someone else suffer over the loss of a loved one.....even if we don\'t know them personally, we can imagine what torture they are bearing!
Missed this one too.I am giving myself a good hard slap right now, Nancy. How very sad for the family of young Thomas. Also must have really shaken you up by being there and feeling the mothers deep shock and pain.Seriously, who would want to come back again to this world, it\'s a difficult place, very painful.Obviously it is not our original abode.Hugs, Di xxo
