Ugh...
Just noticed this is dated Monday, the 29th, but I actually wrote it last night, Sunday. Weird.
Things are hard tonight... she's sort of "out of it." Can't keep her eyes open... but wouldn't consider actually going to bed early. So we're trying to entertain her w/an old movie of some kind. Not entertaining for us, of course, and she'll probably go to sleep watching. But whatever.
Had a short chat about hospice "respite" time...which she did not respond to very well. DH says we sprung it on her too suddenly but to me we were pretty sensitive. But maybe not. We have a friend who would like to come visit (friend has Alzheimer's... so not much "quality" time left) and we want to go see another friend here in TX with her. Mother just seems to stare at us... when I question, it seems she doesn't hear us. It's all pretty hard right now. Had been a good day until this "respite" stuff. I would think she would understand our need for some rest but maybe she's just not as "intact" mentally as I would like to think.

omg my mom does the same thing ie;falling asleep on the couch sitting up,when i say mom go to bed,she says I cant do that its only 9\'oclock!drives me a little nuts,cuz i feel like then its my time,im off the clock so to speak,and can chill and watch my shows or whatever errrr
.Oh brother. What a disaster. Started watching \"The Outlander\" series, which we love... but this was \"The Wedding\" episode, which we should have known was all about SEX. Mother was horrified. And we should have stopped it ... but somehow we just kept thinking we could make her understand where this was in the story. O.M.G. When I put her to bed, (earlier than she wanted), she said, I love you, Penny, but I wish you weren\'t watching such stuff... or whatever she siad. Something like that. And I realized we COULD have stopped it sooner and put something else one. What were we thinking????
I\'m just sick at our stupidity or selfishness or whatever it was that kept us watching an episode that was upsetting for her. Good grief. What were we thinking??????
