DS issues driving me crazy!  I am trying to read people's journals and takes me umpteen times to get in!  Ugh!
I am still at 163 lbs as of this AM.  Went to the Y yesterday and did 35 minutes on treadmill and upper body weights!  Felt great!  I have to keep that up as I really feel the difference.  Calories are good, so just a matter of time and I will see the scale move.  I am confident!  Fitbit was shipped, so I should be getting it any day now.  I have CRE tonight, so I will do some Wii Walk It Out.  Will try to get to the Y tomorrow.
I am totally itchy for Spring!  Thank God the sun was out today and the skies were bright blue.  It is only 41 degrees but going up to 66 on Thursday!  I am tired of seeing "brown" and "dead" trees.  I need green!  My crocuses are coming up as well as the daffodils.  No flowers yet, but soon!
David's interim report card:  1 incomplete, 1 D and all the rest are F's!  And a zillion excuses.  I am letting Paul discuss this with him and handle it.
I love watching "Storage Wars" on tv!  So funny!  They buy storage lockers (auction/bid).  mostly junk inside but every now and then some neat stuff.  Other than that, just busy, busy, busy.  Many fires lately.  Have been on the road almost every day.  LOVE driving my new car.  What a dream!
Dreaming of smaller clothes!  i get coupons in the mail for Chicos, Dress Barn, Kohls.  All the time! Told my husband, no coupons until at least May!  May is my birthday, so I am looking forward to some birthday presents!  Just have to stay focused.

Great on the exercise - muscle mass burns fat even while we sleep :-) Exercise builds muscle mass and also muscle mass weighs more than fat so at first the scales will appear to not be showing the loss of fat when in fact you are losing it and adding muscle mass which weighs more instead.

Wow, that is tragic about David with the grades. He must feel so awful about his place in life. Nothing succeeds like success and nothing reinforces failure as well as failure. Does he get the low grades to confirm his poor sense of self-worth? All behavior is \'motivated\' even destructive, failure types of behavior. The key to changing this around is in understanding \'what\' is \'motivating\' David to fail? The \'payout\' for achievement is not high enough or the payout is not something David places value on. Boys David\'s age usually \'appreciate\' what enhances their \'status\' \'image\' in relation to their peers - i.e. \"Big man on campus. Do his peers value good grades - the peers that have influence with David? I\'m wondering if at this stage in his difficulties if he feels he cannot \'risk\' achieving as that would bring up everyones expectations of his behavior and it is easier, less painful, to fall from a low place of performance than to risk a fall from a higher place of performance? He seems to work awfully hard at \'proving\' to others what a failure he is as if he somehow does not \'deserve\' any better from his life? Are there unresolved conflicts he does not have the ability to resolve that are keeping him from being able to give the focus and effort required to succeed? Is there any reward David would find of value enough to achieve one good grade on a report card? People with damaged self-esteem may sometimes seek out negative reinforcement as a way to validate their own sense of not deserving any better in life. He needs to learn to love and value himself enough to know he does deserve to have success and to love himself enough to resist failure Is there anything causing him to feel he somehow does not deserve to have a quality life with success? There are practical solutions to turn this around and you and Paul just need to keep experimenting and tweaking to find the right fit for David. The longer he stays invested in failure the more difficult it will be for him to find pleasure in succeeding. Gosh, I sure hope it improves soon.

((hugs)) and good thoughts shared
:-) Patricia
