Back on track

Yesterday was day 2.  I am determined to focus on positive.  Too much negative and drama in my life lately!  So Wednesday, food was great and I did 45 mins on Wii Walk it Out.  Yesteray, I did eat 3 Oreo cookies but still kept calories at 1400.  AND most importantly, I got to the Y last night and did 37 mins on treadmill, 2.23 miles and lower body weights.  I hadn't done weights since August!  OMG!  I am back on Fitday.  I also went to Trader Joes and bought Stevia to use instead of Splenda.
Food for thought (per For Women First magazine, 11/29/10, p 28):
High Vitamin D linked to 80% less belly fat
Higher levels of Vitamin D help you lose weight faster.  Taking 2000 IUs of vitamin D can reduce the risk of developing an upper respiratory infection by 90%, all cancers by 70%, rheumatoid arthritis by 42%, multiple sclerosis by 40%, type 2 diabetes by 33% (when paired with 1000 mg of calcium.)
If you are overweight, fat cells can take on vitamin D, reducing the amount available in the bloodstream.  Less vitamin D ciculatting makes it more difficult to lose fat.
Vitamin D promotes fat metabolism by cutting output of para thyroid hormone, revving the livers breakdown of fat.  The hormone form of viatmin D activates receptors in fat cells that suppresses growth.  D increases sensitivity to leptin, a hormone that sends satiety signals to the brain (feeling full).  D has been shown to reduce the accumulation of fat in muscle tissue, a factor linked to increased strength.
I have been tested repeatedly and continue to be chronically Vitamin D deficient.  So much so that I have been on prescription strenght vitamin D.  So as of the last 2 days, I am taking my vitamins again and also doing bender ball crunches every day.  I will have to increase my vitamin D intake even more I think.  I think I am at 1600 per day but the article says 2000 ius a day.
So think about this seriously and talk with your doctor.  This article explained so much to me and why I was having some of the symptoms I was having!  So in addtion to eating better and exercising, I am going to really focus on taking my vitiamins.  I will keep you posted on how this works.
