quick update
Sorry I haven't been on here in a while. Here is a quick update:
I got a Norton Antivirus update and then could not get access to the internet at all for days and days. I still can't get into anything through Mozilla Firefox. I can't get any help from Comcast or Norton. And my personal computer is making funny noises again. So when the dust settles around here, i am getting a new computer. Internet Explorer &/or my computer is very very slow. I will try to take some time to catch up with everyone later this week.
Still backed up at work. Was beginning to get caught up but now coworker on vacation for 2 weeks. Been a little crazy. 3 more fires last week and 2 already today after long weekend. Trying to work some OT to get caught up.
It is crazy unbelievable hot here. Over 100 and staying there tomorrow. Can't do anything outside. We could sure use some rain. Everyone's grass is brown and ugly and burnt.
Ordered the kitchen cabinets. Paul is looking at some friends to install them. Picked out the granite. OMG! Too cool! We are going with 2 different ones: black galaxy (which is black with gold glitter speckles) on the two sides of the kitchen, and Typhoon Bordeauz (from Brazil) on the island. The island one is absolutley gorgeous! I fell in love with it. Paul wanted black, I wanted the other, so we compromised. The bordeaux is ivory with big black speckles and swirls of gray, red, brown, black. The guy said "I have something with a lot of movement I would like to show you." That description of "movement" is perfect. It looks like a painting. So the black on the sides will correspond with the black in my piece. And I saw on HGTV the other day someone who did the kitchen in black but had the island a different dramatic piece and the designers loved it. Also, my wet bar is getting the same typhoon bordeaux. The granite place had just gotten it in. We are the first people to buy it. I refuse to go anywhere else now to look. We are getting cherry cabinets. Black trim across the top of cabinets and black toe kicks. And then oak hardwood floors with the 5" planks. The fat ones. Still looking for backsplash but I am trying to find the right color of glass tiles. Oh, and we have the red & brown and bronze pendant lights hanging over the Island. they look like hand blown art glass. the red and brown will look great with the granite. Dark bronze hardware on the cabinets and dark bronze contemporary faucet (still looking for this. Going to pluming store this weekend.) Off white granite sink in kitchen under the black granite. Wet bar will have black granite sink under the bordeaux granite. So I am really excited. Spent 2 hrs at the granite place on Friday, 3 hrs at home depot yesterday. 2 hrs at lowes the other day. ugh! I am dreading not having a kitchen though for almost a month. My refrigerator is going to be in the foyer.
Still not talking to my brother Rob. Going to other brother, Sal's house this Sunday for Mom's birthday. Rob and family are supposed to come. I promise myself to be civil. I feel horrible about the whole situation. I went to Mom's for dinner on Sunday. Nice night with some of her friends.
Had a female infection that is now gone so felt awful for a few days. Food, exercise is bad. David is ok. He is going out to play, ride bikes, etc. We signed him up for the Y, so I will take him to the pool this week some time. I will try to catch up with everyone later this week. IE is just really slow.

Wow! You ARE busy. It\'s so amazing how different areas are suffering from different things Mother Nature can throw at you. We are under TOO much water. Fields are flooded, basements are filling with water, farmers can\'t plant their seeds, and you NEED water. Balance, anyone? Jeesh. I\'ll trade you some of yours for some of ours and maybe therein lies the balance.
I decorate/renovate/design houses, and you are right on the money with the different granite on the island. That is SUCH a rich, gorgeous, current and lasting design feature. Can\'t wait to see beautiful pictures! Sounds amazing!

Wow! I can\'t wait to get granite in our kitchen too! Hope you post some pictures of the finished product! It was so hot here for about a week, it was over 100 every day, I feel your pain. Hope your issue with your brother gets resolved soon!
Your new kitchen sounds fabulous. You sound like you had a designer picking the stuff out. Hey did you ever think of doing that for a living :)
Don\'t worry about the diet you can get back on track.
Hopefully things will workout with your brother. Let\'s hope he\'s realized you were not trying to hurt anyone. Just do what was best.

Wow kitchen sounds fabulous. A friends mother went with the cherry cabinets and dark granite counters and did a lighter (white pattern) for her island - looks really sharp. We have maple at our new house but want to get granite counter (dark). Can\'t wait! Glad things are good, sorry work is crazy busy. Bet David will enjoy pool.
