Took the dog for a walk last night.  Was good for both her and for me.  She is so much calmer afterwards and then I can sit and relax and watch a tv show with Paul without her bugging us.  It was really dark and Kona is a black & tan dog (mostly black).  We walked to the high school and back, 2 miles, 30 minutes.  On the way back, I feel a breeze behind me (had my ear buds in with my Zune and walking music playing in my ears.)  I turn around, and there is a little silver sports car inches away from my legs!  This man/woman came SO close to hitting us that another woman in a truck pulled over and yelled "are you ok?"  She really thought this person hit us with his/her car!  And the person NEVER STOPPED!  That really bothers me!  We were on the sidewalk on the left side of the busy road (the other side does not have a sidewalk).  And were crossing the entrance to the mobile home park when this "person" made a quick left from the road into the entrance and just missed us.  Served behind us.  Like I said, I felt the breeze on my legs!  OMG!  I had my Spring Green coat on, from Lands End.  I am going to have to look for one of those reflective vests I guess.  I went to PetSmart and looked for the ones you put on the dog and didn't see any where the leashes were.  But now this really scares me! Got in my Y workout today!  36 minutes on the treadmill, upper body weights, core, stretching.  Food was good yesterday.  About 1200 calories.  I feel like I lost 5 lbs of water weight yesterday.  (just getting over TOM.)  Just going to push myself until Christmas and see if I can hit 146.  I am at 7000 steps already today.   CRE tonight.  Gotta bake cupcakes for class.  Last one until after holidays.  Yipee!  My boss called today and said don't do the 5 hr drive up past the Poconos to the new one.  Let a vendor handle it.  Yipee!  Maybe I should upgrade my lime green smiley face to dark green?  Nah.  Saving that one for the size 10's!  Whoo Hoo!  new clothes for Christmas!  My focus for the new year?  SIZE 8'S!  LOL! Oh, one more thing:  Got pictures in mail from my cousins.  You know, the Christmas ones with the kids?  My two cousins' wives both gained weight.  One gained a lot of weight.  I feel very bad for her.  But Paul looked at the pictures and gave me this huge hug and says, "Boy I really lucked out.  You look great!"

People drive like they are trying to kill someone in this state, I swear!!
Glad you are OK...that stinks that the person didn\'t even check to see if you were OK!

Glad your hubby took the time to tell you that you look good! That is a sign of a good man!

I went to Amazon.com today and ordered a reflective vest for the dog and one for me, and one for David (sometimes he walks with me at night or rides his scooter.) I am not taking any chances any more! This reflective vest for the dog glows in the dark. There were pictures of it on there in the dark and it looked really cool! It gets dark here this time of year by 4:30pm or 5pm. There are only a few street lights along the way, mainly at the entrances to the developments. So it is pretty dark. And people use their high beams and I am temporarily blinded sometimes! So the reviews on these vests were great because it made drivers slow down and also turn their high beams off! Also, one person thought that people see the dog vest and think \"seeing eye dog\" or \"working dog\" and slow down. So whatever works. These people speed down this road. It is 30 MPH but I know they are going faster. Only the one side has a sidewalk.

Good thinking on the vest! It is true that lighting in the neighborhoods up your way is limited and I know exactly the area you are talking about...used to be a horse track up there and the Target is just down the road. Crazed shoppers on top of the regular maniacs, good grief!!! I had to laugh at the idea of a seeing eye dog being the thing to slow those crazy drivers down! Good one!!!
Be safe out there!!!
