I need to think positively. I am reading the Dr. Phil book- "The Ultimate Weight Solution." Working on the chapter on negative self talk and the ways I sabotage myself. No one puts the food in my mouth. I chose to exercise or not. I have to begin to think positive. It is the truth. Those days when I feel upbeat and positive, I accomplish more. I am watching the innaugural address on tv. President Obama is so uplifting. I pray he can inspire our country to be better. I read an interview with Will Smith this AM and he said that when Obama comes into a room, the energy level goes up and he inspires people to be better. So it is a new year and new beginnings. I want to be the new me. I am tired at work of being negative. I feel so unproductive and miserable. I have to remember the reasons I like my job. I have to find ways to make it work. I have to focus on me. I want to exercise more and lose weight which will help me feel better and be a better person and mother and wife. I want to live better. I want a cleaner, less cluttered house and life. I want to work less, get more done. I want more "me" time. I want to watch more movies, read more books. I had this same feeling 1 year ago. Looking back at 2008, I quit smoking 1/12/08 and joined the YMCA a few days later. OK, moved in the right direction. Now I will continue that effort. My prayers go out to our new President and his family and our country! Here is to new beginnings and a great year!

YUP! I\'ve made a resolution to try and be a more positive person too. You are right, we only have control over ourselves, actions, and reactions in life. Each can make your life better or worse. I choose to not react to the bad and get sucked in. I choose to embrace the good and sail with it through life. Let\'s hope both of us can keep up with all of this good additude stuff, OK! Hugs.
i like the idea! Negative thoughts not allowed, Positive only! I found myself complaing last week and it actually caused me to change direction. Someone commented on my journal and it made me think, \'I am being negative, no one really likes that attitude\'

Sounds great to me!! What a great action plan. Awesome ideas and well laid out. You can do this!
Yes! Thinking positive is one way to stay on track! Remember the changes that you have made and how you have already become a better person. You are moving in the right direction, don\'t give up! I started DS when I was just not me and felt bad that I was not the mom or wife I wanted to be. In order for my family to be happy, I needed to be happy 1st and being on DS since June of 07 I have come a long way and you can too. I\'ve had many many ups and downs but finally got to a point in my life where I am truely happy with myself and am a better mom, wife and am liking myself more and more. The only thing that worked was eating healthy and exercising - concentratin on ME. The little changes will build up and eventually you will be right where you want to be but it does take time but never give up, as long as you keep going no matter how many times you get knocked down, you will get there. Just be strong, dedicated, figure out what exactly you want and how you will get it. You have to find that inner drive that will get you to that point where you will do anything to get the job done. It will all balance, it will. I thought it would never get easier but ya know what, it does and when it\'s part of your life and not like a chore, it is much easier to accept. Hang in there and make this year yours!!! What can you prioritize to make more YOU time???? Good luck and many hugs!
