So much pressure, so little time. I am giving up on the cards this year. Just no time. And we got hardly any this year anyway. Next year I am going to work on those gosh darn Christmas cards the day after Thanksgiving! (I say this every year.) I have so many estimates to write. And no matter what I will find a way to exercise. I went out last night for a walk with the dog. I felt bad for the dog. After 5 minutes she wanted to turn around and go home! It was SO cold. And the wind chill was like 0 degrees and took my breath away. And the wind was blowing the ice out of the trees and we were getting whacked with the pieces of ice. But I did 20 minutes. I cleaned up my Tony Little Gazelle in the basement. It is a dark dreary dungeon down there. Hopefully in the Spring the basement will be finished and bright. And I will have my own corner for my Gazelle and my weights. Paul and I got in a big fight last night. We have our family bowling league on Sunday nights, Paul, David and I. Practice starts at 6:15pm and we are ALWAYS late. Forgot Paul's friend was here (the carpenter helping finish the basement.) He doesn't drive and we had to drive him home. So at 6pm I am yelling at everyone let's go and we are stuffing pizza in our face and running out the door and then Drew wanted cigarettes. So another delay. And we were playing these guys that bowl really fast. So they were already in the 8th frame of the 1st game (after only like 10 minutes!) So we forfeited the first game. All Paul sees is paying for a game we don't get to bowl. He has been SO miserable at bowling anyway but he really becomes embarrassing at the bowling alley. Throwing a hissy fit, saying he refuses to bowl, he wants to quit and throwing the ball in the gutter and saying he is going to bowl a zero. It was really immature, really embarrassing and really hurt my feelings, as bowling is something David and I enjoy. The only reason he joined with us was so that he was not left out. So this started it. And he was really ragging on David yesterday. Typical kid and then add in a dose of ADHD and David just "forgets" everything. And Paul takes it 100% personal. Then the guilt trip (again) of me going to Florida. Then I wanted to exercise and I left a few ornaments for him to put on the tree and he is like "Do I have to?" And starts putting pressure on me about things I need to get done. And I said something sarcastic about the basement being depressing (to go exercise in) and he just went ff. And I told him that I did not want to be around him since he is so miserable and it is Christmas. He doesn't want to buy presents for anyone. So he flips out, I flip out. Yelling match at 10pm with lots of explitives. Long story short, he decided to sleep in the spare bedroom. Sometimes he does these things purposefully to hurt my feelings, and sometimes he is trying to get sympathy and play the martyr. Right now, he has issues and they are his issues. so today, I focused on getting my own work done. He seems a little better today. I worked from home and made a nice soup and sandwich lunch. (Fastest way to get to Paul is with food.) But I hate this. He can be such a downer sometimes. Gotta finish Christmas shopping tonight. Another Christmas party to survive (I mean enjoy) tomorrow. Mom's house Christmas eve to survive (I mean enjoy) and then my house Christmas day to survive (I mean enjoy.) I need to take a deep breath and just say "what the heck!" If it gets done, great. If not, who cares? I'll mop the floor, swish the toilets and the rest is NBD. Right? Now Paul is trying to make me stop and stay over both nights driving down and back from Florida. Maybe he's right. But I want to get out of here EARLY Saturday am, like by 7am. Can't wait. Forecast says Sunny and 72 degrees for Sunday! Yeah! And my dad, stepmom and David and I are going to see Marley and Me at the movies. Need to save up my WW points for some yummy popcorn!
