I feel like I have been working very hard at getting nothing done. I am really in a slump. I need a few mental health days or a few days away. With all of the spackling and sanding in the kitchen and breakfast room, the dust around here for over a month now, is horrible. Take a dish out, wash it first to use it. Cleaning the kitchen every afternoon just to prevent the dust from being tracked all over the house. Things are not in their place and I feel totally out of control. Praying for husband to finish, soon, so life can go back to normal. David is off of school. Goes to camp some days. Husband is home all of the time. Dog sits under my feet when I work and bugs me for attention. And my son and my husband argue on a regular basis and my son has a real attitude problem this summer. Husband is in the dumps and extra cranky most days. So I have just not been able to focus and get anything done for weeks. My job is suffering terribly and I feel awful. I was supposed to be off of work next week for vacation but my husband switched my son's camp dates (so that David IS going to camp next week) and I will take off the last week of July. Real bummer there. If painting and spackling was done, would have been wonderful to have a week off to myself at home to clean and get some things done and relax. Also, now that I am miserable, I have to wait another 3 weeks for my vacation. Ugh! Paul wants to go on some day trips with our son. I am at the point where I don't want to go anywhere. I have to do most of the driving in the first place. And gas is just SO expensive. And we have the puppy to take care of. I would have to find someone to care for her while we are gone. And I just need some ME time. Well, hoping to have painting, etc done by then and maybe do one day trip with the family and then convince the two of them to spend 3-4 days with husband's uncle down the shore. Wow! 3-4 days to myself. I think I would be a new person. Love my husband. Love my son. But here's praying for some time alone to decompress so I can hopefully be a happy wife and mom again.

Everyone needs \"ME\" time. Allow yourself to have some, guilt free. :)
Hi,you wrote back to my post on adoption site and I wanted to thank you, just read your journal entry and agree it sounds like a few mommy days are needed,I feel the same way at times. So hard to get motivated to do anything around here, especially when too tired. Be nice to have alone time to have a thought. I hope you get some soon. Hugs,Kate
