Took David to karate practice yesterday. He stayed to assist some children who were there getting tested (red/blue/green/orange belts.) All of the instructors just rave about David and how mature he is and how great he is. I keep saying that I wish he was that way outside of karate. It is amazing to see how he changes when he walks through that door! I had a talk with the one instructor. He wants David to student teach. We both agree that David would be very very good at it and it would be good for him (for his self esteem, give him leadership practice, etc.) David just has the patience of a saint when it comes to younger children. My heart just cries with joy when I see him there. And I have to say that my husband and I have met some of the greatest people there as well. (Really dedicated parents, loving people.) And the kids there are all great. So it was terrific: the instructor told David that he could student teach if he pulled up his grades. Well, my son's face just lit up! So here is to hoping and praying! Wow! Just to make honor roll once! It would be wonderful. I know he can do it.
