Today Shane did well in School today. I feel like I can feel the daggers staring at me or even worse avoiding me. It hurts me to think that my kid is thought of as a behavior problem. He loves his school and the kids love him too. So the teachers can stick it! This world is about conforming and my son won't, period. Unfortunately, Shane got a nose bleed today and I couldn't even wipe it without hurting him because his face is so raw from him licking his mouth and sticking his fingers in him mouth and in his nose. He's seeking so bad I feel so helpless and powerless. I pray with all my heart that this will lessen as he gets older. I look back in my past and remember my brother going through the same thing. He doesn't do it anymore and hasn't since grade school. I feel sad and depressed. I don't like to see my child looking all chapped and being in pain from the burning on the face from the chapped skin. And having my 2 1/2 year old on top of this is tough. I have to give my son a lot of extras that I know my daughter notices and I pray she doesn't feel slighted in any way. Why can't people just understand that this is more common than not!

Unfortunately people (many but not all ) are blind to differences in people and give us \"that look\" or I hear \"what a shame\". I live in a small country town that has suprisingly been working well with her SID> Do not give up. Can they impliment an IEP? Have you read \"The Out of Sync Child\"? It is wonderful! Also \"The Out of Sync Child Has Fun\" is great for ways to help with your SID. You are not alone as I have found out from all the wonderful people here. Voice you concern anytime because someone will always be looking but not \"judging\" :-)
