Sunday, September 21, 2008. -- 10:20 A.M. Just before leaving to go to a birthday party yesterday afternoon, I looked through my e-mail and was pleasantly surprised to see something from my brother (Lee). He just returned from a trip to his wife's 50th high school reunion. He said that he did not have a driver's license right now, but should by October, and that he would be able to attend a family conference. He wanted to know if I was interested in the cause of my past addiction, and that he was "curious about your curiosity." He said there were "lots of family problems we might explore." Lee said that he would try and call both my sister and I today. I must admit that I did not expect to hear from Lee. The fact that he wrote tells me that he must care about me in one way or another. Now that I have my brother and sister prepared to go to the family conference with me, I am having second thoughts as to whether I really want to have a conference at all. Actually, it was not my idea to begin with. It was the "brainstorm" of my social worker. I will have to think about this for the rest of today. DS glitch... I didn\'t do that twice.
That sounds kind of bossy, don\'t you think? LOL
Hmmm. Your brother sounds interesting. This is another adventure, for sure. Does he mean the reasons for his past addiction or yours? What do you think he meant by that? Did you and your brother have a good relationship as children? I have a good feeling about this. I feel better about him than I do about your sister.
Me, bossy?
ROTFLMBO!
Guilty as charged! LOL!
While the conference is about you, maybe there are things your brother will be able to purge, with your therapist (whomever) there to protect YOU.
I have more thoughts, but I don\'t want to fortune tell.

Sam, my brother probably sounds more interesting to himself than he does to me. Pardon my language, but he is an egotistical S.O.B. He has never spoken to me very much about his own addiction. For a person who slightly more than a year ago told me he was \"tired\" of our family keeping secrets from one another, I find him to be very hypocritical by the way he maintained a 20-year secret of his own addiction.
He finds it easy to tear me to shreds about my addiction, covers up his own, and shows no remorse over the psychological terror he has instilled in me. If there is any love for me from my brother, it is extremely well-hidden!
When I was a child, I thought we had a very good relationship, but as I have learned since then, he did not feel the same way. I now have reason to believe than any kindnesses he showed to me, at that time, were artificial at best.
It might be best that you not offer to trade me your brother for mine. I might just have to take you up on that. At least I would know what I was getting into ahead of time. :(
Weebs, I never expected you to plead guilty as charged! Sheesh, what is this world coming to?
It\'s time for you to confess some of your thoughts. I\'m not asking you to fortune tell, but a few ideas from you can\'t possibly hurt.
I got that you made a funny, silly....
I need to think some more before I go stirring post. Or POTS if I could tupe. Or TYPE.
grrrrrrrr... fingers no workie.

Hope that the conference goes well.
Yah, Jim. Please tread carefully here. I hope you know you can survive fully without either one of them in your life. I sincerely hope they realize, very soon, what a wonderful brother they both have. They will lose so much.
