Thursday, September 18, 2008 I did not feel well yesterday, due to an incident that took place Tuesday night. I sleep on an air mattress, which gives some relief to the pain in my back, as well as help heal some skin breakdowns throughout various parts of my body. One of my "brainy" CNA’s somehow managed to accidentally turn the mattress off before leaving my apartment. Since there was no way I could turn the mattress back on, I was left that way until yesterday morning. That resulted in my having very little, if any, sleep during the night. I had a lot of back pain all day, and was not even been able to get a catnap. After getting up yesterday morning, the first thing I did was call the office of my psychologist and leave a message to the effect that I would not be able to keep my appointment yesterday. I also stated that I knew she would not be there next week, but that I would see her the following Wednesday. She called back later and left a message saying that I was supposed to see her next week and not see her the week after that. Things are getting too confusing by leaving voicemail, so I am going to send an e-mail trying to clear up the situation. I will probably use specific dates. This should make that clearer. I did manage to talk to the CNA who called me Tuesday. He did not have good news for me as I had thought he would. He had not made any progress on getting the other agency to take me back with them. He tried to talk me into going with another home health care agency, which is something I do not intend to do. Although I like him very much in certain ways, there are times when I think he is trying to "feather his own nest" at my expense. This afternoon, my niece's husband is supposed to finish making some repairs to my computer. This includes installing some voice-activated software by the name of Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 9.5. Using this software at all, all I have to do is speak into a microphone and everything I say is typed up automatically for me.
