Just Another Day

Thursday, September 04, 2008 – 3:15 P.M. My home healthcare agency made a change in my Personal Care Providers (PCP’s) yesterday. Although I knew the switch would be forthcoming, I did not expect it to occur so soon. I am pleased to say it went much better than I had anticipated. Everyone (including me) seemed happy about the changes.   The substitute PCP had been overloaded with work, so she was pleased with having less to do. My former PCP was almost “jumping with joy” about coming back to help me. I was happy when I saw my apartment in a clean and well-organized state again.   My current PCP was concerned regarding the medical problems I have been having during the last two weeks. She is convinced I have food poisoning because the other person left meat out of the refrigerator overnight, and gave me undercooked food. I will run that idea past my doctor tomorrow.   The session with my psychologist, (Dr. Martin) did not go as well as I had hoped yesterday, but that was my fault. I had wanted to talk about my sexual abuse, but by the time I got to Dr. Martin’s office, I had lost the courage to bring up the subject. I was feeling very self-conscious about it.   I just returned from getting physical therapy this morning. This was supposed to have been a day for pool therapy, but the schedule was changed for some unknown reason. I was only told that it would be next Thursday, and that a new therapist would be working with mine. I dislike working with, and getting used to, one person, and then suddenly having to change to another, but I have no choice in the matter.   Quotes for Character: “Of all the properties which belong to honorable men, not one is so highly prized as that of character.”   --Henry Clay
