Saturday, August 02, 2008 – 10:35 A.M. I went to see my doctor yesterday for what I thought would be a “common” urinary tract infection. I was partially right. Although one of his nurses has confirmed MY diagnosis, she said the infection had gotten into my kidneys. I am now being treated for a kidney infection. Last night, I was in so much discomfort that I did not think I would make it through the night. The medication I was given, has already managed to give me some relief today.   My doctor also said my depression has worsened, which was probably caused by an altercation I had with my sister this week. I will not go into all the details, but will say I have learned a valuable lesson. Just because my sister is angry with her “boyfriend” and says, they may split up, that does not mean it will actually happen. With that in mind, I should remember to keep my mouth shut and say nothing, rather than tell her how much he is disliked by the family. We argued a lot, she cried, and I wound up send her flowers in the hopes of peace. What woman does not like flowers?   I have been trying to balance my checkbook this morning, but cannot account for two checks. I am hopeful that I used them to pay for small purchases.   Sleep has been a hard commodity to come by this week, so I plan to spend part of the weekend working on that.   Quotes for Success: “Our duty as men is to proceed as if limits to our ability did not exist. We are collaborators in creation.” Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

The good thing is that you were seen by your doctor and received medication.
I am go glad you had this conditioned treated now and did not let a few days go by.
Sorry to hear about the altercation with your sister about her boyfriend.
Some of us have learned that no comment thing when it comes to boyfriends or spouse or the X. Some of have not.
Thanks for reminding me of some good information.
It is too bad you argued and she cried.
Must say though, the flowers were a nice touch.
Hope you retrieve some information on your checks...been there for sure.

The most important thing is that you are getting your health back.
Remember, if you depression deepened by the conflict with your sister, then it would be situational. Hope it is. That means it will run it course in a reasonable period of time.

Keep us up to date as to how the medicine is working.
Good luck.

I sure do wish you were my brother, Jim. I\'d appreciate the honesty and wisdom you possess.

I think the depression is totally situational. You\'ve piled your plate high with things. Recovering from a past riddled with sexual abuse, beating addiction, and trying to find a future for yourself where you are more valued and have more freedom.

That is quite remarkable, I think. I hope you can remind yourself of all you\'ve tackled and your amazing achievements over the recent past when those ugly depressive thoughts come a knocking.
