Friday, June 6, 2008 -- 10 AM   I am going to see my social worker at the mental health clinic today. After the week I have had, he is certainly going to hear an earful.   The apartment complex I live in is having its parking lot repaved today. Everybody who has a car must leave the cars parked on the street or elsewhere because the entrances to the complex will be blocked off. Because of this, I am not sure how my transportation is going to pick me up. If nothing else works, they will have to let me know when they are here, and I will roll to the street even if I have to maneuver through the blockades.   Looking back over the past week, I am beginning to think that my sister may have had the right idea about me. I am finally beginning to see that I am filled with anger when it comes to certain things. I do not want to be that kind of person.   There is still no news about the medication I am trying to get from my pharmacy. I finally got to the point where I really needed the medicine a lot, so I asked someone to go to the drugstore for me and pay cash for it. I took some at bedtime last night, and it really worked a lot better than its generic "equivalent."   When I got up this morning, the pain in my back had decreased somewhat. That was not a complete surprise since I told my physical therapist that the pain was less when I was lying down than it was when I was sitting up in my wheelchair. She was not too surprised about that, saying something about there being more pressure on my spinal cord when I was sitting up. She said the "ideal" thing would be if I could get out of my chair during the day and lie down for a while, then get up later on. She realized that I am usually somewhat active and like to get outside whenever I can -- especially during summer, plus that would take additional people to help me.   Quotes for Success:   “Motivating gets you going and habit gets you there. Make motivating a habit and you will get there more quickly and have more fun on the trip.” Zig Ziglar

Well... sometimes people want to help you! So why not try and ask!

Or - move here.

Due to some heavy rains yesterday, the date for the repaving of our parking lot was changed, so I did not have to fight my way through an obstacle course just to get to my ride.

Weeble, have you forgotten that I do not like to ask for help? As far as moving there, if you can fix things so that it will be summer like all year \'round, then I will be there in a split second. lol

No I haven\'t forgotten... Have you forgotten that I suggested you come from a different time regarding your disability? People weren\'t as hep to CP as they can be now. You look one way physically, but are another mentally, as I remember the days gone by.

Laws of physics: there are some things you probably just can\'t do, but it\'s ok for you to try. And, it\'s ok if you find you can\'t do them and then ask for help.

Sorry, can\'t fix the weather, if i could I would!

Sometimes, a woman\'s illogic turns out to be logic. Karen, this is one of those times.

AH-HAH! AH-HAH! AH-HAH!

If the dictionary people can revise a dictionary, why can\'t you revise your POV? You couldn\'t ask for help back then, but NOW you can! Because YOU said so!

Looking in the dictionary for the definition of a word is not the same as asking a person for help.

I know that I\'m going to regret asking this, but what does POV mean?

Point of view... And you didn\'t get it... I\'m not talking about looking up words. We aren\'t using THE SAME dictionary. It\'s been REVISED. It has BEEN CHANGED OVER THE YEARS. ADAPTED to work for today\'s society. New words added, antiquated words removed.

Why are you staying with an idea for years, that is kind of not working for you? I mean, so you don\'t ask for help and it gets done, but at what expense? Your mental health? Your bodily health?

Just askin\'...

I wish I could FLOG the people who taught you to never ask for help... They didn\'t want you pitied or thought of as lazy.

But jeebus man, maybe there are just some things you need help with now that you\'re older!

My eyes are like sandpaper now. I love ya, but the CFS demons are striking.

I hope you rest well tonight. Sending no-pain Mojo and good sleep crumbs from The Cosmic Muffin.

Okay, now I get you. The person who drilled that into my head for an eternity, was my mother -- just in case you could not guess it. She caused me a lot of other problems, so why not this one as well? No matter what it may seem, she did have a few good qualities and characteristics. I am pretty sure she was also abused as a child, which may be why she acted as she did. I guess that one would have to ask Freud about that.

I have had it for tonight. I\'m going to watch a car race and then go to bed. Maybe not in that order though.

Sleep well. Thank you for the no-pain Mojo and good sleep crumbs from The Cosmic Muffin.
