Tuesday, June 3, 2008 -- 10:30 AM I am beginning to get fed up with life again. This is not a good feeling because it usually means the start of a downward spiral in my life. When things start going badly, they tend to snowball.   There seems to be some type of lack of communication between my pharmacy and my primary care physician. I am still unable to get the medication that I need to help with my hiatal hernia. The doctor's office says it has not received a fax requesting an authorization for medicine from the pharmacy. The pharmacy says it has sent a fax to the doctor twice. While they are playing that game, I am sitting here with a stomach filled with pain. As I said yesterday, I believe I am getting the runaround.   Yesterday afternoon, I went to get my wheelchair seat evaluated. My doctor had prescribed this in an effort to find out what is causing my back pain. One of the technicians at the company made some changes to my wheelchair seat. He added some extra padding to the seat, itself, as well as to the back. That seems to have increased the pain. In addition, my posture has now deteriorated. I know that I am going to have to go back there again.  This same technician said there was a possibility that my pain might be caused by something pressing on my spinal cord. He suggested that I might have to see a physical therapist who specializes in back therapy.    When I got home from that appointment, there was a voicemail waiting for me from one of the nurses at my home health care agency. She wanted to talk with me about a discrepancy between something I had to tell her and something one of my CNAs had told her. She said that if I got home before 3:30, she wanted me to call her at the office because she was getting ready to leave for vacation. I got here at 3:15, and decided not to call her. I knew that would only lead to an argument of some kind.   My sister called me yesterday afternoon, and she seemed to be happy as a lark. She said she had been feeling badly when she last spoke to me, and she was sorry if she had sounded angry with me. I knew that if I waited long enough she would come around.  LOL   This is a busy week for me, so I may be cutting back on some of the time I am spending on DS. I will be here from time to time, but not as often as usual.   Quotes for Success:   “I was made to work. Great quote again today, Jim.

I don\'t know why life does this to us sometimes. Sometimes I get kicked really hard when I\'m already down. I\'m sorry this is going on right now. I always think I\'m spiraling downward and then am really surprised when I come out of the challenges feeling a little stronger. I hope this happens for you. It sure seems like it\'s happening by your journal entries of late but I also know we are all really good at hiding our pain.

Take care and keep up the good fight. Hugs.

Ah gosh, how upsetting this must be for you. Dealing with chronic pain is psychologically exhausting. I hope they can adjust your wheelchair and get it right this time. How frustrating that you have to go back.

I couldn\'t help but think of Nurse Ratchet from \"One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest\" when you mentioned that condescending call. Gah. People who overstate their authority drive me batty. I hope the call goes smoothly for you and you don\'t get triggered.

Take care of yourself.
