Monday, June 2, 2008 -- 10:25 AM My back is killing me again. I am having so much pain that it is difficult for me to sit up straight. This afternoon, I am going to a company specializing in wheelchair seating for an evaluation. This company did the original work on my seat, so I am hopeful that they will be able to come up with a solution for my problem. After going to bed last night, I thought I was going to die. I had nothing but heartburn for several hours. Although I had taken medication for this prior to going to bed, I had nothing but a burning sensation for most of the night. I spent part of this morning calling a drugstore and trying to get a refill on my medication for this. One of the pharmacist's told me they had requested an authorization from my doctor's office for the medicine that I need, but had not heard anything in return. I called my doctor's office inquiring as to what was holding up everything. I was told that the pharmacy needed to send the doctor's office a fax requesting an authorization for the medicine. I then called the pharmacy again and relayed the information to them. I was told the fax had been sent to the doctor's office, but they would send it again. It sounds as though I am beginning to get the runaround. I think that I have completed all of the paperwork in order to be recertified for the benefits I get from the state of Colorado. The only thing remaining, as far as I know, is to make copies of all the information, and then send in the forms with one of the copies. My sister and I do not seem to be speaking to one another this week. We had a disagreement over the weekend during which she said that I was filled with anger, and that she had not realized how much anger I was holding within me. She seems to go through these cycles every now and then. One of my regular morning CNAs is on vacation this week. The staffing person at the home health care agency somehow forgot to assign someone else to help me. This resulted in a lack of help for me this morning. When my second CNA notified the office of what had occurred, a substitute was sent out just for this morning. The head of the agency called me later on and said she would find someone else to help me for the next two weeks, and that she would notify me as to who it would be before the end of the day. (I will not hold my breath while waiting on her to call me.) A home health care nurse came out from the same agency to see me this morning. See also wanted to see the two CNAs who work with me in the mornings. I told her that one was on vacation, but the second one would be here shortly. She said she would wait in my living room until someone showed up. What she really did, was to stretch out on my couch and go to sleep.
