Sunday, June 1, 2008 -- 11:40 AM Sleep is evading me again. It is not a good feeling to wake up early in the morning and know that you have not rested well. The mere thought of sleep dragged my inner being back towards the bed, but reality soon set in and I realized that I was up for the day. I get either too much sleep or not enough. There is no happy medium. I somehow managed to get most of my paperwork done yesterday. All that remains to be finished is to make backup copies of the paperwork, and to get a proof of income from Social Security. The coming week is going to be a long one. I have appointments each day. Because of that, I have decided not to go to the free jazz concert in City Park tonight. I do not feel that I have enough energy to keep pushing myself to the limits. If I keep doing that much longer, I will probably wake up in the hospital some morning. I do not want that to happen. The weather here has turned summerlike. Today the skies are blue, with small puffs of white clouds floating in them. The temperatures will be in the low 80s. There was a plus side to getting up this morning. For the first time in a very long time, I was able to hear the birds chirping outside. Due to my hearing loss, I do not normally hear them. The sounds they made today brought back good memories from my childhood. I need to try and think of positive things that happened in my past. They are few and far between. Quotes for Success: “It is a shameful thing for the soul to faint while the body still perseveres.” Marcus Aurelius Antonimus
