Monday, April 7, 2008 -- 10:20 AM I am still having trouble sleeping at night. When I got up this morning, it felt as though I had hardly slept a wink. I think part of the problem is because I am doing too much during the week, and that is causing me to feel stressed. The stomach problem I had during the weekend seems to be better today. I finally have a healthy appetite. Part of the problem could be that I am eating too much of the wrong things. I had planned on going to get some medicine today, but decided to put that off for a while. The trip itself was going to cost more than the actual amount of the medicine. Since my sister lives closer to that drugstore than I do, I am planning on asking her to get the medicine for me and I will get it from her when I see her next week. I have enough of the medication to last that long. Thursday morning I will be seeing my primary care physician. This will just be a follow-up visit to the last one, which I had two months ago. The main thing I plan on discussing with him will be concerning the amount of pain I am still having since I had that accident back in December. It has been almost four months since then, and I am growing concerned because I am still having the pain and discomfort. The physical therapy, along with the pain medication, is helping, but I do not want to rely on that forever. I am scheduled to see my orthopedic surgeon next week. It is my understanding that my physical therapist is going to recommend that I start receiving passive range of motion therapy here at home. I am not too keen on that idea, but if that is what my doctors feel I should have, I suspect that I will probably go along with it. When I try to regain an activity schedule it ALWAYS messes my sleep up. But the other choice is to not do things and I can\'t afford for my spirit to get too lethargic. Weeble hugs and Mojo Jim.
I think you made a very good self caring choice in staying home and resting.
The medicine solution was a good one.
You have to see how you like the in home motion therapy. Once you know how it is going to go for you, you will have more information for a discussion with your doctor, should you decide to go that way.
