Thursday, March 27, 2008 -- 11:18 AM I am feeling a bit depressed today. Yesterday, my psychologist said that I needed to make some phone calls that I have been putting off. One of these was to set an appointment for me to see my orthopedic surgeon. Before I could do that, I needed to arrange for my sister to go with me because I cannot reach the elevator buttons as well as open some doors to the building. My sister agreed to go with me, and said that with the exception of Mondays, any day would work for her. After hearing that, I called my doctor's office and set up an appointment. I made one mistake -- I scheduled it for a Monday. I have been beating myself up over this since yesterday afternoon. I really did not have much of a choice since that was the only opening the doctor had for a month. Now I need to call my sister again and see if she can change her schedule in order to help me. On Mondays, my sister studies Italian with one of her friends. I do not see why she cannot give that up for one week, but that is just my opinion. If she says no, I intend to ask her daughter to help me, and if that does not work, I am going to ask one of my CNAs if she will work for me for two additional hours. (If I have to do that, I will have to pay her myself.) I have been to so many appointments in the last two weeks that I am beginning to feel physically exhausted. My energy is being depleted to the point where I do not feel as though I can do much of anything. I had planned on going out tomorrow and doing some shopping on my own, but I no longer feel as if I can. I am thinking about putting that off until next week, since I only have two appointments then. Another perfectly handled day.
I can understand about the appointment.
I have made notes for myself before I call to schedule an appointment and dang ! if I don\'t go and schedule it on the wrong day, anyway.
So you made a mistake. On the other hand, a month or more is a long time to wait.
You have great plan B, C, D, and E\'s. Perfect.
You know exactly what to do.
I always like the fact that you handle your daily situations with such grace and dignity. Now, I don\'t care what you are thinking when you are being diplomatice...you just keep on doing such a great job.
I can see how it is exhausting for you to do too many things in one week.
While we have different health issues, I do have some similiar reactions.
If I have extra stress in my life, or if I do too much in one day ( which is not a hell of a lot. ) I get emotionally and physcially trained.
You do know how to take care of yourself well.
The best part is we may get just a little more of your time...everybody loves it when JimK is in town.
Thank you for the kind compliments. I am slowly working things out on the problems. There are times when I do make some mistakes (such as when making appointments at the wrong times), but no one is perfect -- even though I try to be. ;)
