I have been depressed the last couple of days.  Too many things are going on in my life, and most of them are having a negative impact upon me.  This afternoon I'm going to see a psychologist and I am very hopeful that she can help me out some.   My niece and her husband flew to Des Moines, Iowa Sunday afternoon so that he could have a job interview on Monday.  They had a very bad flight because of running into a snowstorm and ice.  When the plane landed, it started shaking from side to side, scaring my niece very badly.  The snow was so bad that they were unable to drive to a hotel where they had a reservation.  They wound up staying at one near the airport.   On Monday it was cold and still snowing, and my niece's plans to go driving around the city to get a feel for it while her husband was being interviewed, never got off the ground.  She wound up being stuck in her car on some snow-filled street.  I hope the interview went as badly as the rest of the trip, and that they decide to stay in the Denver area.   I had my first physical therapy session yesterday afternoon.  It went well even though my ride to the clinic picked me up late.  If that wasn't bad enough, they also came to get me early; thereby making my therapist cut our session short.  My therapist used ultrasound on my foot and leg, as well as doing some stretching exercises with them.  I could feel some pain when she started bending my knee, but at least I had taken some pain medication before leaving home.   My physical therapist was able to get my left shoe on my foot, which no one has been able to do since my accident occurred before Christmas.  She said to have my CNA check my foot after I got home, which I did.  By that time, my foot had turned red in some areas so the shoe had to come off until another day.  I wanted everything to be back to normal in just one session, but obviously, that was not meant to be.  I do not have another appointment scheduled until next Tuesday, but my physical therapist said she would call me if there were any cancellations this week.   One of the new CNAs who are helping me at nighttime somehow managed to twist my right knee, and hurt it, during the weekend.  It was swollen all of Sunday.  My home health care nurse looked at it Monday morning, and put in her report to the agency that the knee was not swollen even though I still think that it is swollen.  I talked to the head of the home health care agency today just to make sure they were aware of what had occurred, as well as the fact that this CNA keeps coming into my home 30 to 45 minutes before she is supposed to be here.   As if all that is not bad enough, the toilet in my front bathroom has been leaking all weekend.  When I called to report it yesterday, I was asked if it was an emergency.  That was a dumb question.  I replied that if they wanted to call having a bathroom floor filled with water from wall-to-wall an emergency, then yes, it was an emergency.  Although they promised to have someone call me shortly, that never came to be.  I went to pay my rent today, and made a complaint about it with the manager of the apartment complex.  I also told her that one of the outside lights near the parking lot was burned out, and that the people who came to help me at night were afraid to get out of their cars because of that.  I received a call from her just a few minutes ago and she has called Excel Energy to have them repair the light later this week.   I wish I could find something to write today that would be bright, cheery, optimistic, or positive, but nothing like that seems to be in my mind.   There was one more thing I almost forgot to mention.  We are supposed to have somewhere between one to eight inches of snow this afternoon and evening.  It looks like that will ruin tomorrow as well.   Quotes for Love:   “Life without love is like a tree without blossom and fruit.”   Kahlil Gibran
