10:30 AM – M.S.T. I must have been born under an unlucky star. My new CNA, who started Thursday night, appears to have a drinking problem just like one of the former ones I had. It never ceases to amaze me how I can get seemingly good people who, for some reason, cannot wait to do their drinking until they have finished working with me. A little voice in the back of my mind sometimes asks whether they find me so bad that they must be somewhat tipsy before they can stand being around me. Even I cannot buy that excuse. This particular CNA is supposedly being trained by my regular CNA. One would never know that by the way she acts. The new woman constantly tries telling the other one what to do. I would not find this too bad, if it were not for the fact she gets away with it. I am not sure what I am going to do when their office opens tomorrow morning. It partly depends on what happens tonight. If I find out the woman has been drinking again, then I feel that I have no other option than to report her behavior to her office. After the various injuries I received in the last two months, I am a bit reluctant to just ignore someone with a drinking problem who is supposed to be lifting and moving me around. Part of me just does not feel comfortable, or safe, under these conditions. When a problem like this arises, I sometimes call my sister for advice. I do not feel that I can do this as long as it involves my home health care agency. My sister already dislikes the head of the agency so much that I can just picture her storming to the office and then really lashing out at this woman. I feel that I have enough problems without something like this happening.
