This is the second week in a row that I have managed to see my mental health therapists. To me, it is the same as asking people to help me, which I do not like to do. Nevertheless, I feel that it is important for me to at least be able to do this as a part of beginning to like myself. I have always blamed myself for the abuse I sustained as a child. Part of my mind now realizes that it was not my fault. I need to continue working on this goal because it is important for me not to blame myself for any of what occurred. Throughout my adult life, I have always disliked myself for being disabled. Intellectually, I know that thinking this way is unrealistic, but emotionally, I am still at the point where I hate myself. I need to change my feelings about this, but do not know how.

You are open-minded and that\'s where it all starts. You\'ll do this. :o)
You are a smart, tallented man Jim-it is what is on the inside that counts. Walking, running or doing things for ones self ..things most take for granted...there are lots of people who have the ability to do these physical actions....yet they are rude, selfish, lack caring-compassion and deph which you have Jim. Disabilities help cause us to become strong, persavere, and not give up. You have a lot of strengths. Do not dwell on the disability part.....it does NOT TOTALLY DEFINE WHO YOU ARE!!
your counselor could offer suggestions and help in this area-just remeber to mention it to him/her. Need to do some things.
Take care of yourself- I enjoy seeing the strong-determined Jim who is in control of his feelings instead of letting them and emotions get the best of yourself bringing sadness and heartache and defeat.
