9:33 AM – M.S.T.       Yesterday afternoon I went to my sister's house for a small birthday party for my nephew.  I had a nice time and I think most of the other people there did as well -- at least for the most part.  My sister needed a few repairs on her house, but she had her son take time out from his birthday to do the work for her.  Personally, I would not have asked him to do it on his own birthday, but as I have said many times in the past, my sister does not use her head.   The jerk (my sister's boyfriend) was there as usual, and somehow managed to set next to me at the dinner table.  Even though I cannot stand him, he always tries to get close to me.  No matter what was served, he wanted two of everything.  We had ordered some Chinese food for dinner, and when he was served his portion, he did not even know what it was he was eating -- my ten year-old great-nephew had to tell him.  When it came time for dessert, he asked for a "large" piece of birthday cake.  He wanted the same thing when it came to ice cream.  He also wanted seconds on dessert.   One of the "highlights" of the evening came when my nephew and his wife got into an argument over the price of an increase in the cost of their cable TV.  I still cannot believe that they were arguing over one dollar.  They got to the point where my nephew became so angry that he gathered up his gifts from the dinner table, stood up, and then told his wife that whenever she was ready to go home, to let him know.  He then walked into the other room.   My ride came to take me home at the right time, which is unusual.  The driver passed by my sister's house, and started asking people where she lived, even though I was sitting in the middle of the driveway where he could clearly see me.  Once I got inside the vehicle, I figured out what was wrong because I could detect a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.   He decided to bring me home by way of an interstate, which most drivers do when they want to get me home fast.  I wondered what was wrong with him since he kept his speed to about twenty-five mph.  When we got to the apartment complex where I live, he suddenly stopped his vehicle in the middle of the street, opened his door, and said he wanted to throw something into a dumpster.  I thought that was somewhat peculiar and looked out my window toward the dumpsters only to be shocked when I saw him standing there peeing.  When he came back and got into his seat, he told me he could get in trouble with his company for doing that.  I knew that would be the least of his problems if his company ever found out that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.   Quotes of Happiness:   “Be happy while you’re living, for you’re a long time dead.” Scottish Proverb
