9:35 A.M. - M.S.T. There are many kind and considerate people here on DS who will do almost anything they can in order to help others in need. Their actions show that they are compassionate toward others. They ask for nothing in return for their help. Daily Strength offers a wide variety of communities where people who have often lost hope for any kind of help at all find it almost for the asking. Many members of DS take delight in lending out a helping hand. In the past, I have been one of those who have been depressed to the point of thinking that there was no reason to go on living. There were times when I was standing on the brink of death only to be saved at the last moment by well-meaning and good intentioned friends who thought not of their own needs, but of mine. During the months that I have been here at Daily Strength, I have seen this happen time and time again with other people and for other reasons. They saved themselves or were fortunate enough to meet compassionate people who somehow managed to hold them back from stepping into the abyss of death. Daily Strength is a world unto itself. The members here pull together selflessly to help those who are less fortunate than they are. Now and then they come across one or two members who cruelly make-believe that they are going to kill themselves, when in actuality; they had no such plans to start with. For some unknown reason they take great delight in exerting mental anguish upon those whose only wish is to contribute their help. We must try to understand and to forgive those who are less than honest with us about their situations. Just as we are here to try and find help, so, too, are they. Let us continue to work together and endeavor to help not only ourselves, but also those less fortunate than ourselves. We must all remember that famous saying, "United we stand, divided we fall." Quotes for Happiness: “I"m so optimistic I'd go after Moby Dick in a row boat and take the tartar sauce with me.” Zig Ziglar
