January 10, 2008 -- 6:45 PM I have not been online much today due to an illness. After waking up with a sore throat that made me sound like a frog, I decided to cancel my psychological appointment. Rather than keep my appointment and go out into the bitter cold, I went back to sleep for another six hours. I have always believed that if that happens, my body is telling me I need to have more rest. Christmas finally arrived here today. I know that may seem somewhat late, but as they say, it is "better late than never." The PCP who used to work for me had my mailbox key and apparently decided to keep it after being fired. As a result, I had no way to get into my mailbox until this afternoon. The apartment complex did not have a duplicate key, so they had someone break into the mailbox itself. A new lock and key are supposed to be made tomorrow morning. This will make me feel safer just by knowing that the person who has my old key will no longer be able to have access to my mailbox. In the meantime, I now have a bunch of mail that had accumulated for me. Next week I have the formidable task of trying to get rid of two of the people who work for me. One is young, and the other is much older. Both of them have one thing in common -- stupidity. The younger person, who is my PCP, may also have what is known as "sticky fingers" because some of the things that she gets for me have been disappearing regularly. The older person is a nurse who must be in her mid-70s. She does not even know how to use simple things such as a digital thermometer. If I do not do something to correct all of this, my sister has already informed me that my family will.
