During the past week, I have been trying to decide on how to improve my life. In order to do this I have decided that it will be necessary to create new goals for myself. Setting these goals is not the final answer -- I must carry them out. The following goals are ones that I have set for myself with the intention of creating a new and better life for myself: Stop Using Crack Cocaine This illegal drug has caused me nothing but problems. In the past eleven years, I have lost my home and almost everything of any value to me, including a good reputation within my community. There have even been times when various members of my family have refused to have anything to do with me. I have been to rehab centers twice, but they did not stop me from using drugs. I even joined Narcotics Anonymous, but this, too, did not help me. For nearly two years, I have been in various group therapy classes at a mental health clinic. Although attending almost all sessions required of me, I have continued to have drug relapses. I need to continue taking part in the group therapy classes, and doing whatever the therapists tell me to do in order to stop using drugs. If I do not do this, I believe that sooner or later these drugs will kill me. Learn to like Myself When I was growing up I learned to hate myself do to a number of things. I became ashamed of the sexual abuse I underwent, and for some reason I did not clearly understand, I even went so far as to blame myself for causing some of this. I also hate myself because of having a physical disability, even though I have no control over this. I do not feel comfortable going out in public and having people see me using a wheelchair. I need to continue seeing my therapists in an effort to change my negative feelings towards myself. Start Going out More I am extremely uncomfortable when leaving my apartment and going anywhere. I have developed a fear of being away from home, and going out in public. I somehow need to force myself to go out now and then, and have decided to try and do this beginning with at least leaving home one day a week, and increasing this to two days a week within a reasonable number of months. Make New Friends Being alone so often is contributing to my feelings of depression. I need to go out much more, meet new people, and do whatever is necessary to make new friends. Stop Planning to Kill Myself When I get extremely depressed, I get to the point where I want to kill myself. I actually begin to plan ways to do this.I must stop this negative thinking, and somehow learn how to be happier with my life. Suicide is not the answer.

Great! Now hang this up next to the word Weeble, and know you\'re not alone!!!
What you\'re trying to do is a lot, and difficult, but not impossible. You may never lose the desires for drugs or the thoughts about killing yourself. They seem to be pretty entrenched habits. But what you CAN lose is the feeling that those are your only options, replacing them with better, healthier options.
The people who helped teach and enforce all the things above? Fire them. THEY WEREN\'T RIGHT. YOU ARE RIGHT. YOU ARE GOOD, AND WONDERFUL AND LOVED.
Weeble hugs and MOJO.
jim you remind me a lot of myself, I also need to go out more and learn to make new friends, I am only comforrtable around people who know me, I am self-comscious because of my cp and don\'t like to go out alone, So you\'re not alone hugs-Stephanie
Many thanks to both of you for your hugs and encouragement. I am trying very hard to get in touch with the real \"me\" and see if there is any way to make some much-needed changes and improvements in my life. I have finally come to realize that I have made some very poor errors in judgment in recent years.
I cannot change what has occurred in the past, but I do have some control over what I do in the present and the future.
Few things really worthwhile in life, rarely come easily, so it looks as though I have my work cut out for me. Thank you for always being here for me. Jim
Good for you Jim!! Only you can make changes, and I know you can!
