It is amazing how much a good night's sleep can make me feel. Last night I listened to an hour-long jazz show on the radio before going to bed. I took some pain medication, watched TV for an hour, and then went straight to sleep. For the first time in more than a week, I slept for nearly eight hours before being awakened this morning at 6:45 AM by the ringing of my telephone. My nurse was calling me to say that she had come to give an examination this morning. This nurse was the one who had had an accident a couple of weeks ago and had not been able to treat me since that time. She is also the one I always refer to as a "blonde bombshell." I felt great this morning, and after seeing my nurse, my spirits went soaring upwards. With the exception of one person, I am now quite pleased with all of the people who are working with me. I do not know how long this feeling will last, but I hope it continues indefinitely. This afternoon I am going to my sisters' to spend Christmas Eve with her and her family. I think that my mood has finally gotten to the point where I am finally in the Christmas spirit. I sincerely hope that everyone here at Daily Strength will have a Merry Christmas and the best of holiday seasons with many, many more to come.
