I went to bed last night about 9 PM.  I tried watching TV, but was in too much pain to keep my mind on anything.  At ten-thirty, there was a phone call from one of my nurses.  I asked what she wanted and she said she was at my front door, so I opened it and let her in.  She said the head of the home health agency had sent her over to give me an examination and see how I was doing after my injury on Sunday.  I like this nurse because she seems to be sincere and very caring.

When I went to bed last night I had my CNAs put a brace on my leg to hold it in place during the night.  They also put an ice pack on top of my knee.  I did not get very much sleep due to a lot of pain, which started about two AM.  Most of it was in the knee, but shortly after that started, my left foot began causing me pain as well.  When I got up this morning, the foot was swollen and most of my toes had turned black and blue.  I told her to CNAs who got me up this morning that I wanted them to try getting out of bed a new way.  They did what I told them, and the result was that I had much less pain than I had yesterday.  Both of them said it was much easier on them as well.

This morning I went to get some repairs on my wheelchair.  It took an hour, but it was time well spent as day fixed about five different things that had not been working properly.

By the time I got home this afternoon, my doctor's nurse had left a voicemail for me.  I had been trying to get her since yesterday morning without any luck.  I called her back and told her about the accident I had on Sunday.  Although I do not know who told her, she had already heard that I had fallen.  That was not what happened, but at least she heard something.  Their computers are still down, but she scheduled me in for an appointment Thursday morning.  In the meantime, if I start feeling any pain in my calf, I am supposed to go to the ER immediately because that may be the result of a blood clot.

I also stay to arrive Friday morning to see my psychiatrist.  It is a regular visit just to check up on things.  While I am there, I intend to stop at the pharmacy because they sent me the wrong medicine.  This is not the first time it has happened, and I am somewhat annoyed by this.

Gift giving is a hard thing for me to do.  There are times when I like to match the person with what I think is the appropriate gift for him or her.  This year I have been thinking about the perfect gift for the head of my home health care agency.

This has been a hard chore, but I think she is truly deserving of something extra special.  Considering how nice and kind she has been to me, she should have nothing but the best.

I do not know if women still where hats these days, but I think something like that would be very appropriate for her.  Actually, this is not a hat.  It is something that she must wear a little lower on her body -- closer to her neck.  If I am not mistaken, I think that something like this has been called a choker.  There is no way I can check her neck size, so I have decided to get her something that is adjustable.

If you look down from this entry, you will see the beautiful object that I have in mind for her.  I believe that one size fits all.  The only downside is that I do not believe they come in more than one color.  I do know that once it is used, it is not returnable.

Should anyone have an idea of something more appropriate for her, please feel free to let me know.

Judging by these reactions, it sounds like no one thinks too highly of my taste in gifts. LOL Believe me, this \"person\" is more than deserving of the gift.
