I am ready for a trip to nice sunny Florida except for the fact that I do not have one scheduled. Yesterday we had another 4 inches of snow to go along with a low overnight temperature of 6°. Brrrr!
(I am sending this storm to a friend of mine who lives in Pennsylvania. Merry Christmas!)
This does not seem like a time for Christmas. That could be because of the Christmas trees chosen for me by my sister. I have a three-foot fiber optic tree that she gave me two years ago, which I do like. This year she told my brother to get me a bigger fiber-optic tree. He got me one that was four feet tall. He definitely did not like this because he said it was crappy looking. His daughter tried to say the same thing, but in a more cheerful way. She suggested the next year they can get another tree, put a sheet under all three trees and then put artificial snow on top of that, and then add a couple of plastic reindeer atop all of that. She said the reindeer could have noses that light up. I have told all of them that next year I will go to one of the main stores myself and choose the tree that I want.
Yesterday afternoon my PCP finally showed up. She had been absent for about three days without any notice. She was barely awake and almost fell asleep standing on her feet. She made my dinner (although not what I wanted), washed my dishes, washed the bathroom floors, made my bed, and swept all my carpets, rather than vacuum them. Apparently sweeping is easier than vacuuming. She also inadvertently disconnected an emergency medical unit that I use, and did not know enough to reconnect it. That caused a problem later on when I was talking with my sister on the phone and we were interrupted by a voice saying that there was an emergency phone call. The message itself was an error caused by the disconnection of the medical unit. I finally got everything straightened out later at night when my CNAs came to pull into bed.
See also neglected to get my mail for nearly a week.
When I finally got it yesterday, and I was looking through it to see what was important, I came across a letter from the Denver Housing Authority. They require me to file papers annually in order to renew my section 8. This letter was notifying me that they needed additional information from me or my recertification would be denied. Had I gotten this letter a week ago, I could have gathered all of the information required by now. Thanks to my PCP, I now have to make lots of phone calls and run around all over Denver next week. I am not sure how much longer I can put up with her. She is causing me more trouble than she is worth.
One of the CNAs, Renée, called to ask if she could come earlier than normal because of the snow. I agreed to that. She then called the other CNA, Christine, and asked if she would be coming as well. Christine said yes and that she would be at my apartment within twenty minutes. Renée showed up along with her daughter about 20 minutes later. Christine did not come until forty-five minutes had passed. Renée's daughter (Lydia) came with her because Renée had injured her back. Lydia had almost finished working with me by the time Christine got there. She was trying to straighten me up in the bed and was "struggling" to get me in the right position. Christine was standing off to the side just watching. I could not keep my mouth closed any longer. I said maybe it would be easier if Christine would take the time to help. She said she would be glad to. I am slowly getting the impression that she would be glad to do as little as possible.
I do not have much planned for today other than to take a nap and get some rest. My back is still giving me a lot of pain and I am still taking some medication for it. I am scheduled to see my doctor on January 8 if I can hold out that long.

Your snow has arrived here. It\'s pretty... for now. LOL! Weeble hugs and Mojo.
Jim, it must be very frustrating for you, but we\'re all frail and struggling human beings, even family & carers. Maybe it would take some stress off you to remember that too. Tell me to naff off if you want to, but love and kisses anyway.
Hi Jim It is snowing like crazy outside my condo in Ma as I type this, Thanks for your Christmas gift LOL hugs-Stephanie
