As Thanksgivings go, yesterday was not as bad as I thought it would be. Not everything went quite as I thought it would, but at my age that is expected. The first minor problem concerned my transportation. I should have known something would go wrong, but I did not. When my ride was half an hour late getting here, I called the company and asked about it. They said they were on time but that I had written down the wrong time they were to be here. I decided not to argue about it -- what is one-hour more or less? The second unexpected problem also concerned my transportation. My sister lives southwest of here, and that is where I was supposed to go. When I was picked up my driver was reading instructions on how to get there that had been hand-written for her and placed on a clipboard. As we were driving down the highway, I noticed that we would get further and further away from the mountains, which was definitely not right. We were headed in the wrong direction and going southeast. She asked if I knew where we were going and I said yes -- that we were going to the wrong town. I then told her that I could give her proper directions to where he should have been going in the first place. That arrangement worked out and as things went, I was the first to arrive at my sister's. Prior to yesterday my sister had assured me that the only ones who would be at her dinner were family members. That did not turn out to be the case. As it turned out, over the afternoon and evening three additional people had been there. That, together with all the screaming children, was almost enough to give me a nervous breakdown. I was glad to finally get home. Next time my sister promises me that only family members will be at a gathering, I must remember to have her put it in blood. I feel your \'extra guests\' pain. I have too many exposed nerves myself for that surprise. Weeble hugs and Mojo for a speedy recovery.
