Going shopping with my sister used to be a fun thing to do. It probably still is, but did not seem that way yesterday. Maybe the problem was just with me. I seem to have some type of phobia when it comes to being around lots of people. We went to a mall just "looking" for a cell phone for me. I wanted to shop around at several different stores, but by the time we were done with just one, I quickly realized that I could not go to others with my sister and still keep my sanity. The salesperson was nice and helpful without being pushy. I do not know how he felt by the time we left the store, but I was ready for a nervous breakdown. My sister asked him one question after another and insisted that I try holding and operating several different models of phones. I only have good use of one hand, and it is hard for me to hold things in it and move many fingers. That fact made the selection process harder. I was unable to use a phone that had to be flipped open. I also could not use one that had to be held with one hand and opened with another. (At least we were narrowing things down.) Then I told the salesperson that I knew someone who had a phone that slid open. He had two of those. One was a Nokia the other was a Samsung. As with almost everything in life, one had too many features and the other not enough. Of the two choices, I preferred the Nokia, which had a camera, speakerphone and was voice activated. By some stroke of luck, I managed to get my sister out of the store without having to buy anything. She said that her son-in-law could get me some kind of deal on themonthly charges, so I should wait until seeing him on Saturday before buying anything. I agreed with that. After looking for cell phones, we did some Christmas browsing, even though I was not in the mood for that. I think it is too early in the year. We then went a couple blocks down the street to a restaurant where we had lunch. My sister paid. (Smile.) Quotes for Attitude: “To respond is positive, to react is negative.” Zig Ziglar

Shopping is one of my least favorite things to do. I am easily overwhelmed by crowds. And I particularly don\'t like shopping with someone else because I like to go at my own pace, which means taking lots of breaks, keeping things simple, etc. That whole experience sounds like a nightmare to me. One solution might be to check out cell phones and plans over the internet. Some sites cover several different companies and their plans. That might be a way you can do it on your own and narrow it down to what you really want. Then go to the store.
