UPDATE

I was lied to today by my home health care agency, and I really blew up tonight!

This afternoon I told someone from the agency that I needed to have the person who does my cooking replaced.  She promised to do it in such a way that he would not blame me or know that I made the request.  As it turns out, she lied to me.

When nobody came to give me dinner tonight, I called the same person that had been cooking for me because the change was not to take place until next Tuesday.  When he answered the phone, he told me that he had gotten a call from the agency, and that someone there told him that I had fired him.  When I heard that, I told him that I would talk with someone from the agency on Monday, but that I did not fire him.  (I had arranged for them to fire him, so maybe what I said was just splitting hairs.)

After talking with him, I called the head of the agency even though it was after hours.  I expressed my anger and displeasure with her and said that I did not appreciate being lied to by someone from that agency.  I said now that the person was not working for me, it meant that I would have to go without dinner until next Tuesday.  She said she was sure that someone had been lined up to prepare my meals between now and then.  She then looked on her schedule and told me that it did not show any one assigned to me.  I was told that she would make some phone calls tonight and see if she could line someone up.

The person who was doing the cooking for me has said he is coming to see me sometime tomorrow.  The only thing I really did tell him was that we did have some problems.  He did not seem to understand what I was talking about.  I do not like the idea of meeting with him, but I cannot think of a way to get out of it.

I have been lied to by everybody with this agency regarding who would be making my meals.  It started by my friend who recommended his friend to help me, and then the lie was carried on by that person who told me he did not even know that he had been assigned to work with me.  Now the people at the agency are lying to me, which is putting me in an awkward and unsafe position.

There is no excuse for a supposedly reputable agency to act in such a reprehensible manner!

My sister offered to come over, but I think this is one time I need to stand up for myself. Maybe I will learn something from this experience. Jim

Jim,
Now is not the time to make a stand alone,if this guy is on anything when he comes over he could do anything. You need to have someone there with you when he comes[someone big enough to take him down in case he get`s violent]or you could just not answer the door or have your sister come and take you somewhere safe. You need to look at this situation with open eye`s.And if he does come over then you need to press charges agianst him and the agency for letting him know what happened.Remember this guy is on drug`s and you don`t know what he is taking,so it is better to be safe than sorry.Just my opinion.

This morning I do not feel as confident as I did last night about meeting this guy alone. I have some concerns that he might attack me physically. I have a CNA who told me last night she wanted to come over this afternoon to be with me. She seemed to be quite sincere and insistent. My only other realistic option (other than meeting with him) is to just not answer the door when he knocks. If he should also call, which he probably will, I can just ignore that too. He is supposed to be here by four o\'clock so I will have to make a decision before then.
