Monday, October 15, 2007   This afternoon I am going to my Anxiety Group.  Since I've been the only one who has turned up recently, I am not entirely happy with the thought of going there today.  As long as I get something out of all the effort, I guess it is worth it.   I did a lot of deep thinking throughout the weekend about my drug use, and concluded that I have to stop permanently.  Today I threw out all my drug paraphernalia.  Surprisingly, it really gave me a good feeling.  Not only will I be saving money that I had wasted, but I'm sure it will make me healthier.  Then too, I will not have to worry about being caught by the authorities and sent to jail.   Last night I began reading a mystery book entitled "The Quickie" written by James Patterson.  I probably would have read it all night if someone had not come to put me to bed.  I cannot wait to get home tonight so that I can start reading again.   I have been trying to reach my psychologist since last week.  I need to set up another appointment and pick up where we left off when I came down with a gastrointestinal problem related to the bronchitis that I had.  This is the second message I have left her.  I do not think she is intentionally trying to avoid me, but if I do not hear from her this time, I will call again later in the week.  I can be very persistent when I set my mind to it.   Quotes for Attitude:   “Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.” –– Ralph Waldo Emerson
