I have not been feeling well lately, and have been having an increasing number of drug relapses. The only reason I can come up with for this is the ongoing discontent with my life. I am not happy with my life. I would like to see it end. Nothing in my life seems worthwhile. I cannot even begin to see what other people find to be so wonderful about life. For me it is nothing but one headache after another. There is little, if any, happiness for me. I cannot see any reason for my life to continue. My anxiety group therapist, as well as its members, has expressed their concern to me. They want me to try attending different meeting sites for Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous. They seem to feel that I can get help there. I am not convinced of that, nor am I even sure that I want help. I am supposed to continue with the anxiety group for another four weeks, after which I will be joining a Relapse Prevention group for a second time. This seems completely useless. My willpower to keep fighting for life is dissipating somewhat with every passing day. Unless something drastic happens to change my feelings towards life, I do not think that I will be here much longer. Jim,
I thought something was wrong when you hadn`t been on here for the past few day`s.I really hope that you canget the support from us here.We do need you here and don`t want to let you give up.I know it seams like nothing is going the right way and maybe right now it isn`t but just give it a little while longer and it should turn around for you.I for one don`t want you to give up at least not yet, give the people here another chance and maybe we can come up with something even if it dosen`t sound like it will work please give it some time and patient`s.
Your friend,
Monte
I am very concerned about you. You have a lot of people who love you and would be devastated if you took your life. I have attempted suicide many times because the suffering just seemed so unbearable. All I can say now if how grateful I am that I wasn\'t successful. I have been about as low and desperate as a person can be. But one thing I\'ve learned with age is that if I can just hang on even the worst suffering and situations eventually get better. Please call your therapist or a crisis line and let them know how you\'re feeling. You don\'t have to go through this alone. I\'m here if you need me. Blessings, Dancer.
There are a lot of people here who say that working the steps, even though they are not alcoholics, is very cathartic. You never know until you give it a try. Certainly losing enthusiasm happens when we limit ourselves and our choices. If you expand your options and your activities, you might be surprised at what pops up to get you excited about life. :)
