"Always Expect the Unexpected."   A couple things happened last night, which caught me off guard.   I was tired by the time nighttime rolled around so I decide to sit back and watch some TV.  I just got uncomfortable when the phone rang.  That meant I had to straighten up and go into another room, so I did not answer it right away.  By the time I got to the telephone, it had quit ringing.  I looked at the caller ID and was surprised to see my brother's name and phone number there.  I was somewhat startled since we have not spoken to one another for a few months.   He left a very short message just saying that he had called.  I have been angry with him most of the summer; I was not sure whether to return his call.  However, curiosity got the best of me and I called him back.   We talked for about half an hour and I am still not sure why he called in the first place.  The first thing he said was that he and his wife he just returned from a vacation to the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  That had been a gift from his brother-in-law.  My brother's wife has breast cancer, and it was very clear to me that he has been worried about that even though he says everything will be all right.  While talking with him I did not like the sound of his voice and had the distinct impression that something was wrong with him.  Each time I asked about his health, he never gave me a direct answer, but changed the direction of the conversation instead.  Before hanging up, he said that I could call him and he could call me.  That was a very strange telephone call and I will probably talk with my sister about the whole thing.   Later that night, my phone rang a second time.  By then it was nine-thirty.  No one in my family calls after 9 PM at my request.  When I answered the phone a woman told me she was a CNA who was on her way to my apartment.  Since I already had two CNA's coming each night I could not figure out who this woman was replacing.  She told me she was lost and did not know how to get to where I was located.  She talked with me on her cell phone and followed my directions until she finally wound up at my front door.   She was supposed to be in training to replace the older woman who helps me.  This woman was very nice, younger, and had a good sense of humor.  I think we will get along quite well.   Life Quotes:   " I wanna live 'til I die, no more, no less." -- Eddie Izzard
