A late journal entry. Since I was starting with the new home health care agency today, I have gotten behind on my journaling. I will make this entry tonight, but it will not be as long as usual. I am very impressed with the work that has been done by my CNA. She knows what needs to be done without my even telling her. From what she has said, I already know that she is aware that my former CNA had been slacking off. Unfortunately, this is not her primary job, so it is very unlikely that she will continue working with me very long. The woman who is supposed to do my cleaning and meal preparation may not work out, although I intend to give her a fair chance. Either she does not speak very much English, or she just plain does not want to do the work. If things are not straightened out by Monday, I will call the office and ask for a replacement. The session with my psychologist went nicely today. Yesterday, I had a very good session with my anxiety group. That may have been helped by the fact that there were only two of us there. Smaller groups make me happier. My therapist likes the idea of my getting a cell phone. She also recommended that I consider getting a pet -- either a cat or dog. That I will have to consider a while to make sure that there is no conflict with the people helping me, and that it does not break any rules of the apartment complex. Transitions always make me nervous. This one was no exception. One result was that my blood pressure was high today. I am also dehydrated, which made at least one of the nurses upset. She will have to get used to that.

Have you ever thought of an assistance/service dog?
Hi Jim just getting caught up with your journal. Sounds like you have made some very positive changes, even if they are hard. Glad you are having good things coming your way. Hope you do get a pet, they can be very good friends. Take care, tcat
I have just about decided to go ahead and get a cat. I will have my niece help pick one out since I know that she will get a large thrill out of it. Personally, I would rather have a dog, but they require much more care -- at least as far as letting them out and then back in.
So happy for you -- lots of great changes.
