Thursday, June 5, 2007 -- 11:45 AM   Disaster struck this morning! I received both a phone call and an e-mail informing me that my Medicaid had been stopped as of June 1.  Although I have not talked to the technician in charge of my case, it is my understanding from talking with others that the Medicaid was stopped because my recertification was not approved.  I have been told that they did not receive my recertification application. The thing of it is, I never received any notification saying that I needed a recertification.  Although it is done every year, I did not get the packet in the mail this summer.  I called the technician in charge of my case.  My calls are not being answered.  I have gotten her answering machine with a message promising to return all phone calls within three days.  Having to wait that long is liable to cause me several problems, including the inability to get my medications. The clinical supervisor at my home health care agency sent me an e-mail offering to help me in whatever way possible.  I also talked with her by phone and she promised that my home health care would continue.  She sent me her fax number, so that when the technician does contact me, she can fax all the recertification papers to my home health care agency.  Waiting is the only thing I can do now.  I am not very good at that.  In fact, I am almost in a state of panic. I do not understand why everything in my life seems to keep going downhill.  I cannot help but think that I am a truly bad person in order for these types of things to keep on happening.
