Saturday, June 23, 2007 10:35 AM Last night was the third one in a row that I was unable to get a good night's sleep. When my father was alive and something like this happened, he would always tell me that I could not sleep because I had a guilty conscience. That is definitely not the case today. I don't know what's going on now, but I can't put up with this much longer. Yesterday I had a freak accident. It was, of course, my fault. I was speeding through my apartment, without wearing any shoes, when I crashed into a wall. I immediately felt some pain in my right foot. As the hours passed by the pain increased as did the size of my foot. I did not know then, and still do not know now, whether or not I broke something. Later this morning a nurse is going to come see me and check things out. I talked with my sister this morning about our sister-in-law concerning the surgery she had yesterday for breast cancer. My sister told me that the doctor stated his opinion that it was not malignant. If that proves to be true, it will be great news. I am planning on avoiding most people today, so that I can enjoy a few things I like to do. There are a few videos sitting on my kitchen table that I have not yet seen. I want to change that today. Actually, there are enough of them to carry me over until tomorrow. Funny about the avoiding people thing just so as to get some things done for OURSEVLES. I\'m doing the same thing. Something as simple as doing a bit of gardening, I feel I have to avoid so as not to have to talk to the neighbor. Don\'t get me wrong, I often enjoy talking to him, but he is often overbearing and recently did something very intrusive that made me realize what a pushover I am. At least I had the gumption to tell him about it and his wife came over later and told me she was glad that I \"let him have it.\" But I\'m doing other things today instead simply because I do not want to see him, and I feel that this is a perfectly acceptable attitude. Since co-dependants such as myself often don\'t know where to draw the line (ie being aware of the difference between \"selfishness\" and making appropriate boundaries), I have decided to try a little experiment for the next week. I\'m going to write about it in my journal now. As for doing a few things you enjoy, go for it! In fact, do it today and then do it again tomorrow. Then the next day, and the next... That\'s why I set an endpoint to my experiment. I\'d never stick to it if I said I\'m going to do this certain thing forever. But if I just try it for one week, I think I can handle that. What do I have to lose? Enjoy your videos!!
I think you should do what is right for you and don`t worry about what someone thinks is right for you unless it is your doctor telling you.But in the case of watching a movie or two or three or....lol...I could just get caught up in that very easy.but really what is wrong with having time to yourself for yourself.NOTHING! so have a good time and enjoy the movies.I am sorry to hear that you smacked your foot, you do need toget it looked at though, you could have broken something in there.Well I will let you go so that you can watch your movies[did you get some action movies]If so I`ll be right over..lol..might be a long drive,on second thought...maybe not.........Later.M.
Ouch I hope the foot is okay, as for me I busted the bedroom door although still never figured out how because I did not hit it. Do what you need to do for you, and hang in there

I hear ya on wanting to avoid people right now.
Oh, sleeping can be all over the place for lots of reasons. Sometimes we\'re excited, sometimes we\'re processing a lot of stuff, sometimes there\'s too much caffeine or sugar or sleep in general. Sometimes we just feel pressured by the world around us and we really need to get back into ourselves to focus on what we need. Who knows.
You\'re making great choices. Take care of yourself, relax and decompress and you should be able to regulate your sleep back where you want. I have faith in you. :)
