9 AM
Yesterday afternoon I went to a birthday party for my nephew’s wife. I had a very nice time, and I think everyone else did too. Since it was nice outside, the children were able to go in the back yard and play, and my nephew and his wife wound up mowing the yard. That might help because we were not all crammed into one place.
When I got home I saw that my brother left a voicemail for me. I this into it and then wound up calling him back. That turned out to be a bad mistake. I could tell almost right away that he was not in a very good mood. He accused me of not going to the family get-together last weekend because I just did not want to go. He did not believe that I could not get a ride there. Nothing I said would change his mind. He also said that there was rumor “floating around” to the effect that I was using drugs. I tried assuring him that that was not the case but he would not believe that either.
After the phone call, I called my sister and asked her if she knew anything about the rumor that I had been using drugs. She told me she had heard something about it, but did not know who had said anything. It had to have been either someone in her family or someone in my brother's family since there was no one else there. I do not say anyone in my sister's family would have said something like that. I believe the blame rests with someone in my brother's family, but I know he will never admit it.
I am still upset about the rumors that my brother mentioned. I do not like being accused of something that is not true, especially when I cannot prove that. Although I have considered writing my brother and trying to convince him of my innocence once again, I might be better off just dropping the whole thing.
It seems as though there are some days when no matter what I do I cannot please anyone!

Your job is not to please everyone Jim, but to please yourself. Let the rumours fly. Obviously, some people have too much time on their hands and need to create drama. It\'s jealousy over the fact that you could attend your nephew\'s birthday, but not the family gathering. Tell them to take a walk in your backyard before they go flinging accusations. Shrug it off and try and forget about it. I\'m glad you got out and enjoyed the birthday party. I hope you had double portions of cake!! :o)
Have a happy day.

Thank you jana. You might be right about the jealousy factor. I had not thought about that. I did not get double portions of cake, however, I managed to bring some home with me along with second portions of the meal itself! Tonight I will be a happy camper. LOL
It is unfortunate after having a nice time having this confrontation by your brother.
You have let him know that it is not true and your sister as well
The party is something good to remember and I hope that yoou do
Love Jan
