I was a little late getting to my doctor's office today, but considering my transportation, at least today I made it to where I was going. We had to pick up one other passenger and then drop her off, which accounted for why I was a bit late.
As I got to the doctor's office, I saw an old friend and former coworker waiting for his ride. I had not seen him for nearly a year. He said he knew his day was going to be bad but when he saw me, he knew it was worse than he had expected. He has had some medical problems and was in the hospital for four months, but seems to be on the mend. I was happy to see him.
I did not have to wait too long in the examination room before my doctor came in. He wanted to know what he could do for me. I told him he was the one who wanted to see me not vice-versa. We were both just joking.
He said that I seem to be doing much better than I had been in a long time. He also said he felt that my mood had improved a lot and that I seemed to feel empowered. His words buoyed my spirits.
I told him that my therapist was going to have to quit working with me. He did not like that at all. He said he thought my therapist and I worked well together and that she was providing the type of help that I really needed. He felt that I needed to have someone who could work with me for longer periods, so that we could dig deeper into the problems that are troubling me.
He was glad to learn that I had my new hearing aids and that they were working well. He was not quite as happy concerning my wheelchair. Some more adjustments need to be made, and he made some suggestions as to what can be done. Tomorrow I will follow up on this by sending an e-mail to the people who have been working on my chair.
When I told my doctor about the problems I have been having in getting medication from my mental health clinic, he was clearly upset. He left the room and tried calling them. He came back and said that most of the nurses were out to lunch, but he did get to talk to one REAL person, who took his information and promised that someone would call him back. He said he felt that since he was a doctor, they were more likely to return his phone call than mine. As it turned out, he was wrong about that.
I just received a phone call from him informing me that no one had called him back either. I told him I had arranged to go over there tomorrow to see someone in person. He told me that if I ran into a brick wall and was unable to get the medicine to give him a call tomorrow afternoon and he would phone in a prescription somewhere else.
All in all, I feel very good about the visit I had today. Unless something else goes wrong, I do not have too go back until the end of June.

It sounds like you have a kind, caring doc, and I\'m glad for you. Not all of them are willing to go that extra mile to help. he seems to really care. I\'m glad you have someone like that. take care.
I\'m so glad you had a productive day with a kind and caring person that you have Faith in and visa versa
Have a good evening

Hmmm, maybe the Weeble mojo is gearing up...
I\'m glad to hear that some things worked in your favour today Jim. It sounds like you have a wonderful doctor that shows true empathy towards his patients. I like his idea of calling in scripts to another location. Maybe this will work better for you.
How nice to run into an old friend! I always feel great after running into someone I haven\'t seen in awhile...unless I never liked them in the first place! LOL Cheers to a good day, my friend.
