I have a question for anybody reading this journal today. Has anyone ever had spiritual counseling, and if so, what is the difference between that and regular counseling? Someone I know has suggested that when I change counselors I try some spiritual counseling. I've read a little bit about it on the Internet, but it doesn't really tell me what I'd like to know.
There isn't much for me to do today, other than to try and get the confusion surrounding my medications taken care of. I'm tired of getting the runaround, so I'm going to give it one more try by calling the medical clinic again. I'm seeing my primary care physician tomorrow, so if I don't have the prescriptions refilled by then, I'll ask my regular doctor for new prescriptions. That might be the easiest thing to do.
Later this morning I'm going to call my sister and find out how the family get-together went. When I talked with my brother yesterday, he said that one of his grandchildren had fallen down and cut his head open. He apparently had a long gash in his forehead. He was taken to the hospital, where he received stitches, and they checked him for a concussion. His parents then took him home. Now I need to learn what happened during the afternoon.
Last night my caregiver came to put me to bed one hour early. He claimed that he was tired, but I told him I did not believe that. He acted like he thought I was kidding, but I insisted that I was not. I'm sure he knew that I had caught onto his game, which he had tried before. I'm going to start keeping a record of when he tries pulling stunts like this. Who knows, it may come in handy sometime.
A Daily Thought:
What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.

I have no comments on spiritual counseling, but I would definitely keep a record of any time your caregiver either doesn\'t answer or return your calls, or tries to cut out early etc. It\'s not right! Much Luv! I hope this week goes better!!!!
Jeff and I went to a Christian Marriage counselor several years ago and it helped in that is gave us spiritual(bible based) footholds to work on our marriage. I found it very helpful, and we werent going to church at the time and not doing it \"all by the BOOK\" but it felt right. Its all going to depend on you them and the whole thing I guess.
I wanna come down there and boot your care giver! Im sick of hearing the crap he does to you!!!
Thanks to everyone who left their comments today. At this time, I don\'t have any idea what I\'m going to do. I\'m not sure that I would feel comfortable talking to a religious person about the sexual abuse that I underwent. As for my caregiver -- isn\'t he something else? If you\'re angry with him now, what would you have thought about him during the winter when we had a snowfall and he left me here for three days with only three sandwiches to eat? I should really go to a different company, but don\'t have the energy to do everything that it would take to change. Maybe I\'ll feel better if I ever get this counseling situation under control.
I used to work on the other side of the caregiver situation, I was the accountant for a firm of caregivers and we were always spot checking & were very glad when clients let us know if they weren\'t getting appropriate care. I can\'t believe what you said about the snowstorm..I mean I believe you, i think HIS behavior is unbelievabley calous, uncaring and unprofesional....how does he keep his job? You really do need to keep a log. take care.
Queen, as for my caregiver, one of my relatives complained to someone from his agency, but the agency backed him up, saying that a person could even live three days WITHOUT food! The agency pretty much lets him do as he pleases, and we have clashed over other issues as well. I have a list of more than one hundred agencies in this area, but don\'t have any clue as to how to go about narrowing down the list.
