As I watched TV yesterday, I became increasingly overwhelmed as the story unfolded about the shootings in Virginia. My journal entry has apparently upset some people. That was not my intention.

Before I came to DS, I never kept a journal, and I did not know how. The idea of writing down my personal thoughts and feelings seemed foreign to me. I am still not entirely comfortable with having others see this. But I have come to realize that for most of us here keeping a journal is a part of healing.

For those of you who were alarmed by what I wrote yesterday, I want to extend my sincere apologies. I cannot say that this will not happen again, because I want to be as honest as possible with what I write in my journal.

I would also like to thank those who wrote to me with encouragement and support.

Jim, you express yourself through your journals as you should...from the heart. You always bring a smile to my face when I see the comments you post on my journals. You just continue to express yourself in whatever way heals you. I respect you for every word you type. It\'s what makes you the person you are.
