12:30 P.M.
Yesterday we had snow on the ground, but it had disappeared by this morning. Too bad the cold weather didn't go along with it.
I had an appointment downtown, so I had scheduled a ride with that wonderful" company that wasn't even able to take me to my nieces on Easter Sunday. Thinking of that, I was somewhat afraid of what today would bring.
The streets in my apartment complex are being repaved today and tomorrow, so all of the residents were told to have their cars moved early this morning, or else they would be towed away, and their owners would have to pay a $50 fine. Because I knew that I would not be able to be picked up in front of my apartment, I decided to meet my ride at the leasing office.
I got there about 8:30 in the morning. The office was still closed and no one was there, including my ride. It was almost freezing and the temperature was in the low 30s with a stiff wind blowing. The apartment manager finally showed up and let me inside. My ride finally got there, but it was about 45 minutes late.
After my appointment, I waited, and waited, and waited for my ride to show up. I was positioned right by the front door, which was glass. I had a good view of the sidewalk and street. There was no way I could miss seeing my ride. Nearly half an hour later, a young lady walks in the back door and says she is there to pick me up.
She drove my straight home, which was very unusual, because they usually stop and pick other people up, and drop some off, before I even get to my home. As we pulled into the parking lot, cars and trucks were parked all over the place. It looked like a rally of some kind.
My driver wanted to know where she should let me off. I said anywhere in the parking lot would do. I knew that was against the company's rules, but by then I just wanted to get even for the fiasco on Sunday.
As I rolled back to my apartment, I came to a point where there was yellow tape, like they have at crime scenes. It was blocking my way, so I couldn't even get by. I tried finding different ways to get to my apartment, but it was no use.
I decided to take the bull by the horns, especially since I was in a pretty bad mood by that time. I rolled up and through the yellow tape. By the time I was finished, I had a smile on my face. I felt that I had shown them not to tangle with me!
