4:30 P.M.
Sometimes, something good comes out of something bad. Yesterday, when my ride didn't show up to take me to my niece's home for Easter, I was a little bit angry. But later that afternoon, my sister and her boyfriend came to my apartment. They had brought me a plate of hot food, plus chocolate candies.
My niece also sent several cinder blocks in order to prop up a desk of mine, which had broken legs. My sisters boyfriend spent the better part of an hour trying to get things put together. While he was doing that, my sister and I had a nice conversation in the other room.
After the repair job was finished, I was told repeatedly not to run my wheelchair into the table, or it would fall down. I couldn't figure out why this jerk could possibly think that I would ram the table. The only thing I would want to run into would be him!
Before they left, my sister asked me if she could take my broken hearing aid in to be fixed. I said yes, and gave it to her, along with the name and address of where she was to take it. She really surprised me today, by showing up at my front door with the hearing aid, which had been repaired.
Maybe missing out on the Easter brunch was a good thing after all.
