My caregiver never returned my call yesterday about where my hearing aid was. Not surprising. He gave it to me as I was going to bed. It had been placed behind a telephone that I never use.

I was so angry at him that I called some other agencies, told them about myself and what I needed/wanted. I said I planned on making a change in May or June. One agency is understaffed right now, but expects to have that corrected soon. Someone from the other agency is supposed to get back to me today.

The session with my therapist went okay. On second thought, I was disappointed with it. We decided to work on my anxiety because I've been having more panic attacks. Now I'm having nightmares. At the end of the session, she got her appointment book, and I told her to make it two weeks before I saw her again. I'm not entirely sure why I said that. The depression HAD decreased by the time I got to her office, but it's back in full force today.

I still think I need help, but once every two weeks won't do it. Sometimes I feel as though she doesn't really want to see me. Then there are days when I feel that I shouldn't be there because I'm too old, and there are others with more serious problems who could be helped instead of me.

I'm in a lousy mood today. We were supposed to get some rain last night, but we got a half foot of snow instead! More is on the way.

My therapist told me to keep writing in this journal every day. I don't know why, and never thought to ask her until I got home.

A Daily Thought:

Begin doing what you want to do now. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand -- and melting like a snowflake. -- Marie Beyon Ray

I love your thougth! We are here only temporarily...try to make the most of it while we are.
Im sorry about your therapist, you have been having issues with her for awhile.
You are worth going tho...doesnt have anything to do with age! Each of us has a gift to give to one another and we all deserve, regaurdless of age, to be at our best to do that.
As for you caregiver, I know how hard it is to find good care...my neice had to get certified to take care of my sister because it was so hard to get decent help...I run into the same thing in my line of work too...I had a woman crying the other night she was so desperate for daycare for her baby.
Speaking of which...gotta go!!!
Love ya hon!

I\'m sorry you are having a bad day, Jim. Guess we can\'t blame hormones, but take it from someone who lives in snow country, it doesn\'t make life any easier! I\'m glad you took action against your caretaker. And so, in that aspect, maybe things will change. Do you think more appts. with the therapist will help? Sometimes it does. It\'s very difficult to change when you have been with the same person, but maybe that should be considered or come right out and ask her or tell her what you need from her! You are the paying customer, afterall. I\'m sort of in the same boat. Too old for therapy? Been to a nursing home lately? The train ride is lifelong...and then we reach the station.......have a better tomorrow. Sue
